UK Family Holidays For All Age Groups

By Carol Smith

Blackpool is an amazing place to visit, offering so much for people of all ages. Blackpool is buzzing with night life that attracts people from all over the UK. People enjoy hen nights and stag dos in Blackpool. There are so many UK family holidays that it would be too much to mention in one article. Therefore, this article focuses on Blackpool and London.

Blackpool has a wonderful array of places for children to visit. Parents can choose to visit The Wax Works, Pleasure Beach, Amusement Arcades, Piers and more. A day at the wax works is really enjoyable with different celebrities made into wax. Meet Ozzy Osbourne, Elton John, Gok Wan and Cheryl Cole to name a few.

A trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach will allow children to explore the all new Nickelodeon's Land where kids can meet Sponge-bob, Dora The Explorer and Diego. Kids can have their picture taken with the cast of characters from Nickelodeon's Land. Nickelodeon Land is six acres in size and has twelve cool rides to explore. Wristbands are available from eighteen pounds and allow someone to have unlimited access to all Nickelodeon's rides all day.

Eating places are scattered all through The Pleasure Beach with various dishes available. For those people who love pizza, there are many pizza places. Burgers, hot dogs, chips, candy floss, popcorn and other snacks are also available. Plus there is a lovely doughnut stall at the front of the Pleasure Beach selling freshly baked doughnuts. The smell of freshly baked doughnuts drafting in the air, is an experience to behold.

London is a wonderful area to explore. It can be expensive staying in London, especially in the centre. Some people prefer to stay outside the main city centre, but travelling in and out of London on the tube can be expensive. There are cheaper ways of staying in the centre of London if someone is prepared to stay in a youth hostel. There are also camp sites in London.

Within London there is a National History Museum which is a big favourite for families. Children love learning about the dinosaurs and playing with the special games set up especially for children. It's also possible for children to make a volcano and watch it erupt in front of their eyes.

London is an excellent place to stay especially for theatre lovers. The West End has many theatres all featuring their own variety of musicals. A trip to London would not be the same without visiting Buckingham Palace to catch a glimpse of the Queen. UK family holidays are wonderful experiences where many exciting adventures take place.
